We also visited Port Arthur… an important historical area from our colonial and convict past… and on 28 April 1996 site of the worst mass shooting in modern Australian history—after which the Australian government introduced a buyback program and heavily restricted gun ownership.
We took a trip to Tassie, the view from atop Kunanyi (Mount Wellington) was really something.

We spent Easter on beautiful Heron Island, home to a variety of birds (no herons) and a green sea turtle nesting ground.
In the early 20th century also home to a turtle cannery, thankfully now a resort and University of Queensland research station.
