@manton I found that changing Camera Control’s “Light Press Force” to “Firmer” in Accessibility settings eliminated accidental touches for me. Might be worth trying.

@manton I saw the trailer on YouTube the other day. It looks really cool.
@manton I don't think you can take that paragraph out of context like that. 🤣
The article doesn't appear to describe anything positive—perhaps positively toxic.
It’s certainly not what I understand you to be describing or how I've heard you talk about developing Micro.blog before…
@manton Thank you!
@manton Do you have any idea why this post wouldn’t have cross posted to Pixelfed? It was a scheduled post and I have cross posting enabled.
@manton @danielpunkass At one point in your chat about Crowdstrike you mentioned something like "Hopefully they've learned and wont let it happen again"… Turns out it's not the first time. Apparently something similar took down Unix a few months ago.
All these sort of products feel like a protection racket to me. Every enterprise buys into it, but I can't help but be skeptical.
@manton social media rarely handles full html though. I guess it’s an argument about where the line is drawn.
I suspect Mastodon on the web only works because it’s a web page rendered using a full html renderer, not through intentionally supporting anything in particular.
For better or worse I agree, I don’t think those apps will shift.
Thanks for looking into it.
@manton Posts are also rendered incorrectly in the official Mastodon iOS app.
@manton I’ve noticed that some posts from micro.blog end up with extra newlines when rendered in @ivory.
The Ivory team said they just render what they’re given without transformation.
Any idea what is happening? It seems related to p tags.
@manton it seems the issue might be gifs?
@JohnPhilpin it was Sunshine Beach, Queensland. We had amazing weather. Whales swimming past. Winter is just terrible here.
@manton It seems like micro.blog isn’t ingesting threads posts correctly. This post has a link and a gif that are missing in mb. As a comparison, they are visible on Mastodon.
@desparoz what a great picture.
@manton Yeah.
They’ve already been sending the queries off device and now with private cloud they seem to have really nailed how to do that.
I’m confused why this isn’t already a thing. It seems obvious that it’s the way to have all the inconsistent Siris be coherent.
@manton @danielpunkass @coreint Great chat.
You hit on my #1 Siri gripe: responses like "Ask your iPhone".
You ask it!? 🤣
I hope Siri becomes a personal AI mesh network, that works out the correct responses among your devices and the private cloud.
A single nebulous intelligence, untethered.
@manton what causes the tiny thumbnail images?
@manton ok. Thanks.
@manton I think it may not be working then? I’m following my mastodon account here, and I noticed that this post shows its original not updated content in the Micro.blog timeline.
@manton Should micro.blog recognise when a post from another ActivityPub service is edited?
@manton Is there a way to create a test user with a test timeline? I want to create some very specific posts with certain types of content, but don't want to pollute my real blog…
Or a better way to achieve that goal?
@kottke.org FYI, it seems that your auto poster for micro.blog often posts links with broken markup/down.
@vishae So cool. We didn’t get it up in Brissie.
@manton API idea: surface the user's "AI" setting (if it's not already) so third party apps can use it with their own features.
@manton Listened to the latest @coreint. I'm glad you're weathering the storm with a little help from @danielpunkass. I really don't understand the vitriol that was hurled your way… even if it turns out you were wrong.
@manton I've been using Kagi for a while now. It’s excellent.
