@manton but that’s an argument from familiarity. Mapping etc isn’t in any way a new thing. It’s literally decade sold.

@manton @danielpunkass It’s interesting listening to you guys talk about “clever” or “unreadable” or “complicated” code when talking about things like “map”. I think you’re really talking about familiarity rather than complexity. :)
@danielpunkass On another note, do you find the keyboard is always in a random language? I have Spanish, Italian, and English installed. It’s almost always in an unexpected state.
@desparoz Greta shot. Love it. :)
@brentsimmons Ok thanks. I moved all the feeds. That worked a treat. I was hoping to move all the "stars" as well. Oh well. :)
@brentsimmons Is there a way to move favourites/stars from an RSS provider, e.g. Feedbin, to iCloud syncing?
@brentsimmons people who opt out of Apple’s system?
@NetNewsWire is there currently a way to move starred items to iCloud?
@danielpunkass it’s pretty mind blowing watching it from the outside.
@desparoz I’ve been heading to some shore dives. Not spectacular. But wet is wet. :) you?
@desparoz nice. :)
@manton Excellent. Thanks for the tip. :)
@johnsundell Do you micro.blog plosts just come straight from you Publish powered site? Any tips on how to set that up? I'm looking at creating a simple static site, rather than a wordpress installation, and wondering if it's possible to hook that up to Micro.blog.
@manton Is there a way to hook up any arbitrary RSS feed as a micro.blog? Or does it have to come directly from a Micro.blog site, or from a Wordpress blog?
@brentsimmons this jibes with my suspicion that if something can be mechanical rather than digital/electric/computerised it probably should be. At least for some subset of tools that need to survive.
@manton hmm ok. I’ll dig deeper and get back to you.
@manton curious about file size limits on posts in Sunlit. I try to post a group of photos to my Wordpress blog, that I’ve posted to Instagram and I frequently get failures based on post size.
@danielpunkass “Many forms of Government have been tried, and will be tried in this world of sin and woe. No one pretends that democracy is perfect or all-wise. Indeed, it has been said that democracy is the worst form of government except all those other forms that have been tried from time to time.” — Sir Winston Churchill, Hansard, November 11, 1947
@brentsimmons make undesirable states unrepresentable. 👍
@brentsimmons Sure. I’d like it too. Just wondering if you’d seen Brave. :)
@brentsimmons re: You web browser post, have you looked at Brave Browser? It's something like what you want. Kinda. :)
@ryanbooker @manton Any idea why this post lost its line breaks?
@jmac3665 😂 there is an annoying but completely functional workaround for the 2FA pop up issue: 1. Make dummy account on Mac, log in to iCloud, and enable 2FA. 2. Log out of iCloud and the account, then delete the account. 3. Add a second iCloud account on your iOS device in Passwords & Accounts. 4. Rejoice. You now have full 2FA including the pop ups for both accounts on the one device.
@brentsimmons Now go to iOS, Settings > Passwords and Accounts and add a new iCloud account for the secondary Apple ID. You now get the popups for both accounts on the one device.
What a !#$% show. :)
@brentsimmons not to mention if you ended up with two by accident because of how the old systems worked.
I ended up with one non-email based one and one based on my iCloud address. Can’t merge them. Have to keep and use both because of purchase histories.
Then we have accounts on build machines etc. now they need devices logged in!?
