@desparoz That's fantastic. I've always wanted to visit Iceland, but have yet to make it!

@danielpunkass Did you see the post from someone on the right lamenting how hard it is to push their agenda because science and reality usually seems to side with the left?
🤣
I really hope the proverbial chickens are coming home to roost for all these cretins.
@manton It was really quite something. How did you find the length? It didn’t feel long at all to me.
@jean What a great photo. :)
@desparoz Nice one!
@manton The original post I replied to just vanished and an also incorrect rescheduled post appeared. 😅
UPDATE: I just deleted the second incorrect reschedule and rebuilt the site. It seems to be fixed now. But there definitely appears to be a rescheduling issue… Please let me know if there's anything I can do to help track it down.
@manton I think there still may be issues with rescheduling posts. This post shouldn't be here… I rescheduled it to a different time and subsequently deleted and reposted it (for in a few days time). It doesn't appear on my blog (which is correct). I tried deleting it and rebuilding, but it came back. 😅
@cliffordbeshers It's a really fun course! Weirdly that post isn't supposed to be up yet! It's not on my blog yet and is scheduled for a few days time. Oh well. 🤣
@manton Great news! Thanks. :)
@manton on that note… (testing out what it’s like to follow a micro.blog on Pixelfed for example)
Is there anything in particular I need to do to have photo posts appear in the timeline when followed on Pixelfed? I don’t see any posts when I follow my micro.blog.
@manton & @danielpunkass Listening to the latest @coreint got me thinking about the question "Why have Mastodon and Pixelfed and ... rather than just posting to Micro.blog and letting people follow wherever?".
It's a really great question. For me it's two main things.
The difference between syndication and participation. You can easily syndicate from Micro.blog to Mastodon or Pixelfed, but you can't fully participate because we're not quite speaking the same language. Boosts and favourites are part of the conversation.
Another is the difference between a post and something more ephemeral. e.g. Not every random screenshot or picture you toot is intended for a photo feed, and not every random thought is intended for a blog.
@walter It’s hard to judge for me as I saw the show first so that’s who I see! The one thing I did notice is that the show, for obvious reasons, uses other physical characteristics to indicate the effect of being a Belter.
@help was there something up with the iOS app or logins earlier? on my iPhone the app was still signed in but every screen displayed and blank webpage with text something like “you are not signed in”.
Signing out and back in to the app fixed it.
@danielpunkass What makes it unsafe?
@help Is Reply editing supposed to work in the latest Micro.blog for iOS beta or is it not implemented yet?
@walter I’m a big fan of the show, which is what prompted me to start reading the books.
@benwerd Great idea… the post says suggests Sup already exists or is being actively worked on, but I couldn't see a link to Sup itself… is it still too early or did I miss it?
@help Does mb have the concept of timeline only posts?
I don't necessarily want every random thought to end up on my blog… e.g. Maybe it's just a question being thrown out into the ether.
At the moment I use Mastodon for "random thoughts" and micro.blog as more of a traditional blog.
@manton I liked pinned hashtags on Mastodon. But maybe even better (or at least different) the ability to have pinned searches. If there was a powerful search/filtering feature.
@manton Ah cool. I admit I haven’t onboarded for a long time and don’t remember what it was like.😃
@manton That’s a great cafe. The best coffee I had in Austin while visiting over Christmas.
@manton I missed it yesterday, but a great post. It reminds me somewhat of Ben Thompson’s distinction between levels of The Stack (about half way down this post).
@danielpunkass Uncanny.
@maique It sure is!
@cliffordbeshers Thanks. I must admit I was struggling to think of anything interesting! I took a lot of photos of the knife first. 😅
